Liverpool Recent Form
Liverpool have continued their recent run of performing well in Europe, but poor in the Premier League. Arne Slot’s side are still yet to win in the Premier League in 2026. But convincing wins over Marseille and Qarabag have allowed Liverpool to qualify directly for the Last 16 of the Champions League. Slot’s side are now also facing a defensive injury crisis which they will have to navigate.
Win: Liverpool 6-0 Qarabag, Wednesday 28th January.
Loss: Bournemouth 3-2 Liverpool, Saturday 24th January.
Win: Marseille 0-3 Liverpool, Wednesday 21st January.
Draw: Liverpool 1-1 Burnley, Saturday 17th January.
Win: Liverpool 4-1 Barnsley, Monday 12th January.
Draw: Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool, Thursday 8th January.
Newcastle Recent Form
Newcastle suffered two setbacks over the last week, first with a disappointing home loss to Aston Villa. Followed by a 1-1 draw away to PSG, which meant they fell out of the top 8 in the Champions League. Newcastle are currently 9th in the table, and one of four teams currently on 33 points. A win at Anfield would move Newcastle above Liverpool in the table.
Draw: PSG 1-1 Newcastle, Wednesday 28th January.
Loss: Newcastle 0-2 Aston Villa, Sunday 25th January.
Win: Newcastle 3-0 PSV, Wednesday 21st January.
Draw: Wolves 0-0 Newcastle, Sunday 18th January.
Loss: Newcastle 0-2 Manchester City, Tuesday 13th January.

When these two sides met earlier in the season the fixture was full of tension over the Alexander Isak transfer saga. Isak won’t be able to face his former side due to injury. Liverpool won an eventful game earlier in the season 3-2 against 10 men Newcastle thanks to young Rio Ngumoha.
A similar type of game may be on the cards at Anfield, over 4.5 match goals is 10/3, while over 5.5 cards is 11/4.

Alternatively sports spread betting markets are available for the match, offering a different way to bet on sports compared to regular fixed odds betting. Selected football spread betting markets include Total Goals; the spread is 3.05 – 3.25. If you thought, there would be 4 goals or more in the match you would make a ‘buy’ bet. If the match finished 3-2 the a ‘buy’ bet would return a profit of 1.75 x your stake. However, if the match finished with 3 goals or less then a ‘buy’ bet would return a loss. E.g. a final score of 2-0 would return a loss of 1.25 x your stake.
Another available spread betting market is 1st Match Goal, the spread is 31 – 34. If you thought the 1st Goal will come before the 31st minute you would make a ‘sell’ bet. If the 1st Goal came in the 27st minute, then a ‘sell’ bet would return 4 x your stake. However, if the 1st Goal came after the 34th minute then a ‘sell’ bet would return a loss. E.g. a 1st Goal in the 39th minute would return a loss of 5 x your stake. A ‘sell’ bet would also return a loss if no goal was scored.
Other football spread betting markets on Liverpool vs Newcastle include Shirt Numbers, Bookings, Corners, Total Goal Minutes and Goals Cubed.
